Happy Holidays

Christmastime at the Old Timer is always festive, and this past Sunday was no exception. If having the good ol' Jug o' Punch on the stage wasn't enough, we also had a visit from Santa Claus! He made the rounds, passing out candy canes to all the kids and having pictures taken with them. (I noticed a few star-struck adults having photos with him as well...you know who you are.) In fact there were quite a number of kids there, of all different ages.
There was one particular little boy who was absolutely enthralled by Eamon's accordion. It got us to thinking: how many times over the years have we been a child's first live band? It's probably happened fairly often at the Old Timer. It's wonderful to look out and see those little pre-verbal ones watching or, even better, bopping along to the music. Then, a few years later, maybe they've learned the 'choreography' for "The Unicorn." The fact that we can entertain both those children and their parents (who may have come to see us when they were kids) is very gratifying and makes us so proud of what we do. Thank you for allowing us to continue doing it.

Happy New Year, all.
